Seven Bach flower essences. The emotional layer of a life under pressure.

I did not set out to make a general blend for stress. In my practice, I kept meeting the same shape of exhaustion: patients who were doing everything right physically and still could not switch off. I wanted an emotional layer that matched what I was actually seeing, not a single generic essence standing in for a much more layered state. de-STRESS is what came out of paying attention to that, patient after patient, over many years.

In the Stress Balance™ Method, I look at stress across three layers: physical, biochemical and emotional. de-STRESS was built entirely around the third. Its seven essences, drawn from the Bach tradition, were each chosen for a specific pattern I see again and again in people who have been under strain for a long time.

Used on its own, it offers daily emotional support through a demanding period. Used alongside the 3D Functional Blends™, it adds a focused emotional layer to the wider programme.

de-STRESS

Seven Bach flower essences. The emotional layer of a life under pressure.

Who this formula is for

  • People going through a sustained period of pressure at work, at home or in caring for others
  • Those who notice their mind staying active long after the day is done
  • Capable, responsible people who sometimes feel they are carrying more than is sustainable
  • Those who find it hard to stop, even when they know they should rest
  • Anyone who wants a considered, gentle addition to how they meet a demanding period

Why this combination

Most flower essence blends are built around a single idea, and reach for two or three essences that share that theme. de-STRESS is built differently. In more than 25 years of practice, Galina has noticed that the people who come to her under pressure rarely describe one feeling. They describe several, layered on top of each other: the tiredness that sleep does not touch, the drive that will not let them stop, the thoughts that circle at night, the sense that composure is thinner than it used to be.

de-STRESS is built as seven essences addressing seven distinct patterns, each chosen on its own merits from the Bach tradition, then considered together for how they work as a whole. Read together, the blend moves from what has been spent, to the pattern that spent it, to the mental load that holds it in place.

The formula of this blend

  • Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus), Bach: Dr Bach wrote of Hornbeam for people who feel they “lack the strength, mentally or physically, to carry the burden of life.” Ordinary tasks seem too much, even though they usually manage them in the end. Chosen for its quality of freshness, and of meeting the day with interest rather than dread.
  • Oak (Quercus robur), Bach: The Oak type, as Dr Bach saw it, is the strong, dependable person who keeps going through every difficulty without losing hope or effort. Chosen for its quality of steady, enduring strength that also recognises when it is time to rest.
  • Olive (Olea europaea), Bach: For Dr Bach, Olive belonged to those who have given so much, mentally or physically, that they feel they have no strength left for any further effort. Chosen for its quality of renewed vitality and a sense of reserves returning.
  • White Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum, flower), Bach: Bach associated White Chestnut with a mind occupied by thoughts, ideas and inner arguments a person does not want, returning again and again. Chosen for its quality of a quiet, clear mind with space to think.
  • Vervain (Verbena officinalis), Bach: In Dr Bach’s system, Vervain is linked to people of strong principles and great enthusiasm, who push on long after others would have paused. Chosen for its quality of enthusiasm held in balance, with energy that can also be at ease.
  • Elm (Ulmus procera), Bach: Dr Bach’s picture of Elm is the capable person doing important work, who at times feels the task has grown beyond what one person can manage. Chosen for its quality of confidence and perspective when responsibility feels heavy.
  • Cherry Plum (Prunus cerasifera), Bach: Bach placed Cherry Plum among the remedies for fear, specifically the fear of losing self-control under extreme pressure. Chosen for its quality of composure, and of feeling steady and in charge of oneself even under intense strain.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Brandy, highly diluted extracts of the flowers: Hornbeam, Oak, Olive, White Chestnut, Vervain, Elm, Cherry Plum. 36% ABV.

How the essences work together

  • The weariness. Hornbeam and Olive meet the two faces of tiredness: the heaviness at the start of the day, and the deeper sense that reserves have been spent.
  • The drive. Oak and Vervain describe the people most likely to reach that point, bringing balance to the drive itself so that strength and enthusiasm can include rest.
  • The load. Elm and White Chestnut meet what a demanding period does to the mind: the weight of responsibility, and the thoughts that keep circling.
  • The edge. Cherry Plum addresses the fear of losing self-control at moments of intense pressure.

de-STRESS in the Stress Balance™ Method

The Stress Balance™ Method looks at stress across three layers:

  • Botanical Intelligence™, the physical layer: whole-plant tinctures
  • Biochemical Resonance™, the biochemical layer: biochemical salts
  • Vibrational Field™, the emotional layer: flower essences

de-STRESS is a Vibrational Field™ formula, focused entirely on the third layer. In the 3D Functional Blends™, flower essences sit alongside tinctures and biochemical salts in one bottle. de-STRESS offers the emotional layer on its own, with seven essences. It suits daytime use, and anyone who wants to begin with the emotional side of stress.

How to use

  • Suggested use: 4 drops in a small glass of water or directly on the tongue, up to 6 times a day.
  • To reduce alcohol: Add drops to warm water and leave for 2 to 3 minutes before drinking.
  • Shake: Shake gently before use.

Do not exceed the stated use.

Using de-STRESS within Stress Balance™

  • During the day: Pair with ADAPT & RELAX 3D Functional Blend™ for daytime support across all three layers.
  • In the evening: ADRENAL CALM 3D Functional Blend™ already contains Olive, Oak and Elm, so many people use de-STRESS in the day and ADRENAL CALM at night.
  • For a deeper picture: A Stress Balance™ consultation looks at all three layers together. [Link “Stress Balance™ consultation” to /consultation/]
